PETA's Investigations and Rescue Fund
The abuse that animals suffer at human hands is heartbreaking. But thanks to the efforts of PETA—and our generous Investigations & Rescue Fund donors—countless animals have been saved from lives of misery, neglect, and suffering.
Babe
After a baby pig tumbled off a truck taking him to be fattened for slaughter, a kind person scooped him up and brought him to PETA. We arranged foster care and visits to a veterinarian before staffers delivered the piglet to a happy new home. They made a stop along the way—to visit PETA pal and Babe actor James Cromwell, who thought the little one’s name should be Babe in honor of the beloved film. Then off Babe went to his new home, the Chenoa Manor animal sanctuary in Pennsylvania, to eagerly begin exploring and making new friends.
What You Can Do
The movie Babe inspired James Cromwell to go vegan. Follow his lead and help pigs and other animals by not eating or wearing them.
