Despite growing public opposition and legal protections for animals, bullfights continue to be held in parts of Mexico. These events violate Article 4 of the Mexican Constitution, which guarantees the protection of animals against mistreatment, as well as Mexican Official Standard NOM-033 and the Federal Animal Health Law.

Using the form below, join PETA Latino to urge authorities to uphold the law and finally end bullfighting.

Hidalgo: Governor Julio Menchaca Must Take Action

Bullfights continue in Hidalgo despite clear constitutional and legal protections for animals. Governor Julio Menchaca has the power to help ensure that the law is respected and that animals are protected from cruelty.

Tell Governor Menchaca that it’s time to stand on the side of the Constitution and put an end to bullfighting.

Guadalajara: Speak Out on Social Media

PETA Latino has repeatedly urged Veronica Delgadillo, mayor of Guadalajara to ban bullfighting—and we’re not backing down.

Our supporters have taken action through public demonstrations, online advocacy, and even a birthday cake delivery asking the mayor to stop allowing bulls to be slaughtered for entertainment. Now we need your help.

Please leave respectful comments on the mayor’s social media accounts and urge her to support a ban on bullfighting in Guadalajara. Public officials should know that compassionate citizens expect them to uphold the law and protect animals.
