Since just days after the war in Ukraine started in February 2022, PETA Germany and its partners have been risking it all to save animals in need. From flooding to missile strikes, Global Compassion Fund–backed teams have risked it all to help Ukraine’s animals. Meet some of the beautiful souls who now have a second chance at life because of your support.
When a missile strike destroyed his family’s home, Don’s future was uncertain, as his family had to evacuate. They left him with neighbors who lived in the basement, but with the war raging on, Don’s new caretakers were also unsure how long they could safely stay to feed him. Thankfully, a PETA-supported team offered to take Don to a shelter so his caretakers could escape to safety, too.
Now Don is safe at a shelter, and volunteers from Druzhkivka are looking for the perfect family for him.
