Not long ago, a dog named Kolyasik was at death’s door. He could barely hold his emaciated body upright, and a severe case of red mange left his skin raw and his hair falling out in clumps. While he was desperately searching for food, shrapnel struck his leg. Thankfully, a kind Ukrainian soldier spotted him hobbling through a war zone on his front legs, scooped him up, gave him shelter, and then called on PETA-supported rescuers to save his life.
