Ukraine Updates
September 26, 2024
Since just days after the war in Ukraine started in February 2022, PETA Germany and its partners have been risking it all to save animals in need. From flooding to missile strikes, Global Compassion Fund–backed teams have risked it all to help Ukraine’s animals. Meet some of the beautiful souls who now have a second chance at life because of your support.
Inna remained in her home near the front lines of the war in Ukraine and refused to abandon the 20 animals in her care. However, she and the animals were in constant danger from bombardments. When she reached out for help, the PETA-supported Animal Rescue Kharkiv (ARK) team jumped into action to help them flee their home-turned-battleground.
When the ARK team arrived, they were met with drones flying overhead and gunfire from a tank. Thankfully, despite the bullets, everyone escaped without injury.
Now, they’re recovering in ARK’s care, safe from the war.
